How to Manually Remove Programs from the Windows Uninstall Program List Jason Fitzpatrick @jasonfitzpatric Updated July 10, 2017, 12:59pm EDT If there’s a program lingering on your Windows “Add or Remove Programs” list that doesn’t belong, there are two easy tricks you and use to purge it from the list and tidy things up. Uninstall a program in Windows 10. Windows 10 is the latest OS from Microsoft. There now couple of methods to uninstall a program: one is similar to previous versions of Windows (XP, 7, 8), other is new, but simple. Jul 10, 2017  Within the the Tools section, select “Uninstall” and then from the list of programs select the program you wish to remove the entry for. Select the “Delete” button. Delete, as opposed to “Uninstall”, will simply remove the entry from the program list and will not attempt to remove any installed software or bits left behind after a manual uninstall.

I request you to try uninstalling the program from safe mode.

Follow the steps below to go to safe mode:

To enter Safe Mode in Windows 8:
Restart your PC.
Press Shift + F8 before the Windows logo appears.

Click See Advanced Repair Options.

Click Troubleshoot.

Click Advanced Options.

Click Windows Startup Settings.

Click Restart.

You then see a list where you can choose Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking (depending on whether you think you’ll need the Internet).

Delete the program by following the steps below:

1. Press 'Windows' + 'R'. Type 'appwiz.cpl' and press Enter.

2. Select the program and click on Uninstall and follow the instruction on the screen.

I hope this helps you. If you have any further query in future, feel free to contact us. We will be happy to help you.

I have Windows 10, and have been trying to uninstall a program without success. Please help.

Thanks EMC

hello EMC - I'm no expert (just finding my way around W10 as a new user like yourself) but try this...

Click on the windows icon in the bottom left corner of your screen and scroll down the list to the 'All apps' button. Open this section and you should find a list of programs installed on your kit. Locate the item you want to uninstall and right-click to execute. It's pretty much the same as before from this point and should do the trick.

Hope this helps.

Hello. The way I do my uninstalls is the following way. I Right click the Windows icon that's used for the Start menu, select Control Panel, then select Programs and Features. From there, you get the old screen to uninstall programs the same way you did back in Windows 7 and below. Hope this helps.

Windows
Thank you for your simple explanation. Can't believe the responses that preceded yours, showing a total lack of understanding of Windows 10. So far, I am finding little to love and much to not like about the NEW GREAT platform.

djdwendell has one of the quickest ways to get to the Control Panel.

I added these as an FYI.

You can also click start, type Control Panel to search for it, and right click the control panel desktop app and Pin to Start.

You can also start typing uninstall and it should populate Programs and Features from the Control Panel.

The other way that Win 10 has access to uninstalling is by clicking on Start > Settings > System > Apps & Features > select the app you want to uninstall.

You can also just search in that same settings screen for Control Panel as well.

Hope this can help you love the Platform a little more.

I find nearly every MS upgrade to make things more difficult than they were previously.

I have been a Windows user for more than 20 years.

I no longer use the MS Windows IDE.

I now use Mozilla vs the garbage 'edge browser.

I feel like I have lost an old friend who will not be coming bak.

The only 'support available now are people who know how to read the cookbook and are totally lost if the question is not in the cookbook. However, they WILL provide AN answer.

I no longer can recommend MS products.

All that is left is the Office cash cow.

Now, in answer to you question:

1. click the lower left 'Windows button (used to be the start button.)

2. click on 'All apps

3. click on 'control panel

4. click on 'Programs uninstall a program

Now, I have just provided you the answer that MS has not answered.

What a disgrace!

It is very easy to do an uninstall....... go to all programs, find what you want to uninstall, hover over it, right click, scroll down to uninstall, it brings up the uninstaller and you just do the same as you do on all windows, highlight program and uninstall

Hopes this helps.....
