If you ever purchased a Windows 10/8.1/7 PC from most popular brands like Dell, Lenovo, HP, Samsung, etc, chances are you might have noticed the manufacturer’s name and logo in the system section. This OEM information includes information about a computer’s make and model, a custom logo and support information that hides under the ‘System’ section of the Windows Control panel. The information is provided with the sole purpose of assisting users. You will not find it if you have a custom-built computer or have installed a clean copy of Windows.

If you wish you can easily edit, add or change the OEM information, by modifying the registry.
Add or Change OEM Information in Windows
Open ‘Registry Editor’ and navigate to the following key –
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionOEMInformation
If your PC is an OEM product it will bear manufacturer name and support information. A number of strings will be seen listed with the following Value Names:
- Logo
- Manufacturer
- Model
- SupportHours
- SupportPhone
- SupportURL
Users having a clean install of Windows, will see no values corresponding to these strings.
To add OEM information, select the kind of information you want to be listed in your Control Panel and begin creating values for each desired field, giving the value names mentioned above in the list.
Select the OEM key (left), right-click in the right section of the window and select New > String Value. with value type REG_SZ and give it a name “Manufacturer”.
Next, double-click on the value to open the Edit String window and enter your custom information into the Value Data box. Here, I want my PC’s custom manufacturer to be identified as The Windows Club or TWC. Press OK to save the value.
Next, open the Control Panel and see the ‘System’ section. You’ll see your new Manufacturer information listed there. If you add other values, such as a support telephone number or website, they’ll appear in a separate “Support” section of the window.
One can even select a custom logo image. Do not keep the size however more than 150 Pixels. Also, save the image in BMP format for best results. Simply provide the “Logo” value to the path on your drive where the image is saved.

Today, we will see how to edit, add or remove this OEM Support Information in Windows 10. The whole data is stored in the Registry, so you can customize it easily. The OEM logo is a *.bmp file which is also easy to create or replace.
Here is an example of OEM Support Information set in Windows 10. In System Properties it looks as follows:
In Settings, it looks the same information except for the logo.
To Change or Add OEM Support Information in Windows 10, do the following.
Open Registry Editor and go to the following Registry key

Tip: You can access any desired Registry key with one click.
If this key do not exist, then just create it.
Here you can create one of the following string values. Note: If you want to omit some portion of the information from the OEM Support Information text block, you can remove the appropriate parameter.
Manufacturer - this string value stores the vendor's name. Specify the desired text you want see in the Manufacturer section.
Model - this string value stores the model of your PC.
SupportHours - this string value can be used to specify the support hours you want to be displayed.
SupportPhone - this string value specifies the OEM telephone number to call for support.
Note: The value data of SupportHours and SupportPhone is limited to 256 characters and shouldn't be longer.

SupportURL - this string value stores a link to the vendor's web site. It will be shown as the 'online support' link.
Logo - the string value 'Logo' should contain the full path to the BMP file which represents the logo of the PC vendor. The image should fit the following requirements.
