for anyone doubting this app...
i took my permit test a few days ago. i downloaded a variety of apps and even read the manual in preparation because half of the people i talked to about the test either said it's extremely easy if you use apps or it's extremely difficult.
the only people this could be difficult for are people who DO NOT use this app. when i walked into the DMV i was completely shocked to see a poster for this IDENTICAL APP hanging on the wall. i wish i would've taken a picture. but seriously. identical app.
once i went to the computer to take the test, i saw the SAME QUESTIONS and SAME PICTURES, everything the same. i finished my test in literally like 45 seconds and i got a 100%. it's all thanks to this app. i could've never even picked up the manual and used only this app and the outcome would've been the same.
so, for anyone in doubt, know this. it's identical to the test and pennDOT even recommends it(they most likely created it). if you're still feeling like this won't be enough, i recommend using the app DMV genie in conjunction. DMV Genie does a good job explaining some of the harder questions if you're having trouble understanding concepts. all in all, this is IDENTICAL TO THE TEST and it's impossible to fail if you use this and memorize the questions.
Identical to actual test
The app uses the identical pictures, questions, and answers from the practice tests in the study book you get from the DMV. There isn't a single question on the test that isn't in the study book. This app helped so much because going through all those practice tests in the book takes too long. I got all the questions correct thanks to using this app (and book). I recommend doing the practice tests in the book first so that you're sure you covered them all (because each test in the app uses random questions, 18 at a time) and then using this app to make sure you've memorized all the answers.
Extremely Helpful App
I kept taking practice tests on and off for about 3 weeks and passed the actual permit test on my first try (without reading the manual in full, just the first page or two) thanks to this app, which asks the exact same questions. In the practice tests, there are some questions that get repeated so much you’ll get sick of them, but there are a couple that don’t show up as often, so keep taking the practice tests until you recognize most if not all the questions. If you keep getting 100% or 94% (1 wrong), you’re good to go!

The Pennsylvania learner’s permit is your first step towards being a fully licensed driver. To get a permit, you’ll need to pass a written knowledge test, vision test, and pay a $35.50 fee at your local PennDOT Driver License Center. If you are between 16 and 18, you’ll receive a junior learner’s permit. The Pennsylvania written test will be 18 multiple-choice questions based from the 2019 driver’s manual. You will need to answer 15 of the 18 questions correctly, so it’s important to study and use our free DMV practice test as a helpful tool. The knowledge test will cover questions regarding traffic signs, PA driving laws, and safe driving practices, all of which are covered in the driving manual. The exam can be given in multiple languages as well as in an oral format if needed. Studying for the PA DMV written test will make sure you are a safe and confident driver as you prepare for your license.
Unlock a HUGE set of exam-like questions
If you only study the official manual, your odds of passing are a terrible 49%. That's the average DMV test pass rate in the US. The guide they give you at the DMV isn’t written to promote rapid learning. No matter how smart you are, it has a way to make you feel dumb: there are way too many things to remember all at once. How do you even know what you'll be tested on?
