There is no factory password. There may not be a Web Interface at all. It is usually a Bridge only Modem and not a Router so there is nothing to configure.
»Efficient Networks Forum FAQ »Is there a Quick Start Guide for the 5100 Modem?
There are Three (3) Product Type Flyers for the 5000 Series here in PDF:
5100 and 5200 Bridges [Bridge/Modems]
»www.efficient.com/pdf/ss ··· dems.pdf
5100 and 5200 with PPPoE Firmware Only [PPPoE/Modems]
»www.efficient.com/pdf/ss ··· dems.pdf
5100, 5200, 5400, and 5500 Routers [Router/Modems]
»www.efficient.com/pdf/ss ··· ters.pdf

This is what Efficient says:
Accessing the Web Management Interface on my SpeedStream 5100 or 5200
Similar Thread:
»Speedstream 5100 - Web configuration
Note: If you are being prompted for a Password, there should be a prompt for a Username first. If that isn't the case then it's not the 5100 Modem, but something else.
Bottom Line: It would be something only your ISP can help you with.

Hi Waldi! You have to reset your router by pressing the reset button you can find on the bottom of the router.
Attention! All the configuration you have done, will be lost and set to factory defaults, so write down on a piece of paper your present settings. Here are the relative pages from the manual.
*All these above in case you are sure that you own a router.
Otherwise, you need to study carefully the content of DrOld's links.

Questions for you.
If it is a Router (slim chance, but it is possible - he didn't mention being asked for a User Name) and since he cannot currently access it, how can he write down any of it's internal settings?? If he resets it and cannot get online, his ISP may not tell him the settings (they can have rules and policies that say that) and then they could charge him extra money to reconfigure it or replace it.

Oh! My thought was really stupid! (What did I said?)
As I can see at »www.siemens.pl/icn/sieci ··· cn_kat_7 , all types of Speedstream (modems, PPPoE modems, or modem/routers) are in the local market, so Waldi knows better.
However, if he/she has got a router, I suppose that has kept the main settings to re-establish a connection (I mean ISP usename/password, VPI/VCI, encapsulation type etc).
But configuring more settings, as port mapping, firewall , may be a trouble for him/her.
So, Waldi you need to tell us what type of 5100 (among these shown at the site above), you have got to help you more.

Show me System Summary and Routes please.
You don't need a password since you have access to the Web Interface.
Just follow the steps here (works for the 5100, too):
»Efficient Networks Forum FAQ »How can I free all the menu commands for the 5200 as seen in the User Guide?
If you make the 5100 unusable, you take full responsibility.

You create your own info and you better remember what you create or you will lock yourself out completely.
If what I've posted doesn't work for you I cannot make it work.
At this point, I suggest that you leave it alone before you damage it or make it where you cannot see any pages at all.

Call your DSL provider. That is between you and them.
Please re-read what I posted. You seem stuck on 'creating new profiles' and that is NOT what you want to do. I posted how to 'override the 3 hidden default profiles' which is what you DO want to do.
I cannot help you any further. You have been given the correct info and that's all I can do. I do not know how to have you understand it. There is nothing else. This is the ONLY way.

Doctor Olds

  • May 14, 2019  Anyone knows how to get SpeedStream 5100 DSL modem to talk to the PC via an ethernet cable so that I can get into its configuration for further DSL configuration? I looked up the manual and it says the web interface should be on 192.168.254.254; however, my modem keeps on showing 169.254.179.117.
