Besides this, it has lots of action in it, though never too intense or too scary, making it more ideal for a younger audience. (The suggested age is seven and up.) Earlier this year the series debuted on Cartoon Network, and now the DVDs are coming out for those who'd like to own the show. And, sure enough, there have to be plenty of kids (and yes, some adults) clamoring in their desire for this.
The gist of the series is that a group of teenagers form their own fighting squadron called the Storm Hawks. And though the adults may not take them seriously, these kids end up saving the day. This means lots of adventure at every turn! It even has good lessons in it, considering how it tells people to believe in themselves and to not be defeated by criticism. The kids may at first be hurt by what the adults say, but it never keeps them down for long. Besides, there are villains to be dealt with. The main bad guys are a spidery, creepy girl named Master Cyclonis and a battle-hungry fighter known as The Dark Ace. These two antagonists threaten Atmos, the world all this takes place in.

Storm Hawks Dark Ace

The teenagers of Storm Hawks, in the meantime, are led by Aerrow, a spunky noble-minded boy who's always trying to prove himself. His fellow heroes can be a little wacky — take, for example, the vacuous Finn or the especially morbid Stork. Nonetheless, once together, they get their missions accomplished. And they do this with good comic moments and enough action to keep it exciting without overdoing it. You can see why a show like this would make it to a big outlet like Cartoon Network.

Video and Presentation
There are five episodes altogether, with the fifth one 'Tranquility Now' counting as a bonus episode. That's a total of about 107 minutes.
The animation has a neat blend of different artistic manners. Characters are drawn in a stylized way, as is often the case with animation. No one in real life looks like Aerrow or his friends, with those big eyes and really pointy chins. You can tell it's a Western cartoon, as opposed from an Eastern one, from its style.

Language and Audio
The show is only available in English, so there aren't language choices. However, subtitles are available in both English and Spanish. Everything sounds good, from the voices to the music.

Extras and Packaging
How many DVDs come with their own little original comic book? Not that many. Storm Hawks does, though. So along with getting a fifth and extra episode, you get an extra little story on paper! The DVD additionally has 'The Storm Hawks Squadron' and 'The Storm Hawks Weapons' in the Special Features section. Previews are another bonus available. Still, it's fair to say that the comic book may well be the nicest treat here.
